How to "Bloom" Spices in Oil for Maximum Aroma

Many people add spice powders directly into water or gravy. This is a mistake! To get the best smell, you must "bloom" the spices. This means adding your Flavorack powders to warm oil or ghee for just 10 to 15 seconds. The oil pulls out the natural flavors and essential oils that are locked inside the dehydrated powder, making the taste much more powerful.

"Oil is the carrier of flavor, and heat is the key that unlocks it."

But be careful! Because our powders are dehydrated and fine, they can burn very quickly. Always keep the flame low. Once the powder starts to smell sweet and toasted, add your tomatoes or water immediately to stop the cooking. This simple trick will make your home-cooked curry taste like it came from a professional restaurant kitchen.
