How Heat Affects Spice Purity During Grinding

Most local flour mills grind spices at a very high speed. This creates a lot of heat, which actually "burns" the delicate oils inside the spices. This is why some powders smell like smoke or have no smell at all. At Flavorack, our engineering approach ensures that we keep the temperature low during the entire process.

"Science and tradition must work together to preserve the true essence of nature."

By using dehydration before grinding, we make the spices "crispy" enough to grind easily without needing high heat. This keeps the "Volatile Oils" safe. These oils are where the actual flavor and health benefits live. When you cook with our powder, these oils are released in your pan, giving you a much better aroma than heat-damaged spices.
